Walter Ferrulli

Ruolo: Artistic Director

Born in Florence, 15th of July 1970. After being started to piano study during youngest years, he deepens his learning many years later, starting from 1990. One year later he joins the newly born Summertime, where he has the chance to grow artistically speaking, being choir singer first, then rapper, then keyboard player. In 1999 he produces the CD "Say you will" becoming few months later director of the choir. During time he develops the idea of a shoe the could bring closer choir and electric band to a classical orchestra and in 2002 this show debuts at Teatro Verdi in Padova with the Christmas Gospel Show, starting a long lasting collaboration with international dancer and choreographer Etienne Jean MArie with his dance crew, The Mighty Power. The show grows over the years with sold-outs in many theatres around Italy, and in 2004 the next album from Summertime is produced: "Summertime Live", of which Walter is the artistic producer. In 2007 the big success is set with the Christmas show in Padova (Palanet), success that is repeated one year later with the 2008 "The train of energy tour" in which Walter broaden the repertoire going from funky music to soul-pop, in this way creating and emotional and strong link with the audience. In 2009 he takes care of the production of the second live album "Live in Venice" that also stars Vittorio Matteucci and soprano Silvia Calzavara. From 2009 on, the growth is constant and in 2011, Summertime Choir, thanks to Walter's artistic direction, perform in front of a 5000 people audience at Palafabris in Padova in one of the most emotional concerts in the history of this paduan choir, concert that also stars international gospel-house star Cece Rogers, directly from NYC. Between 2012 and 2013 the repertoire, although still sticking to the contemporary gospel world, is renewed, including new songs with christian rock flavour, and also some new original songs from Ferrulli's hands, with the help of the new guitar player Carlo De Bei, giving birth to a new chapter in Summertime's life. In the meanwhile, thanks to the constant effort and passion from the choir director, Summertime starts to perform also abroad, and in 2011, they held a show in Bratislava during the most important gospel festival in Europe.
